The Escher String Quartet returned to Alice Tully Hall on February 10–11, 2026 for a landmark program as part of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's String Quartet Series.

Joined by violist Paul Neubauer, the quartet gave the New York premiere of Chris Rogerson's String Quintet — a co-commission by CMS, Chamber Music Houston, and Chamber Music Monterey Bay. The six-movement work takes its inspiration from different types of clouds, moving through textures described as wispy and meditative to stormy and thundering.

Rogerson, hailed by The New York Times as "a confident new musical voice," wrote the piece specifically for the Escher.

The program also featured Mozart's String Quartet in D major, K. 575 and Dvořák's String Quartet in G major, Op. 106. The concert was broadcast digitally through CMS On Screen and is available to stream.
