The Escher String Quartet enters 2026 riding a wave of critical acclaim. The Guardian's citation of the ensemble as "one of the finest quartets of their generation" has become a touchstone for critics and presenters alike, and the 2025–26 season has done nothing to diminish that reputation.

The quartet's season has taken them to Alice Tully Hall, The Morgan Library, Ensemble Music Society Indianapolis, Buffalo Chamber Music Society, Arte Musica Montreal, Clark Library Los Angeles, and the Savannah Music Festival, among many others.

In Europe, they returned to Wigmore Hall — where they are regular guests — for a BBC live broadcast recital, the latest in a long series of performances at one of the world's great chamber music venues.

"Profound musical insight and rare tonal beauty" — the phrase that has defined the ensemble since its earliest years — remains as apt as ever in what is shaping up to be one of their strongest seasons yet.
