This July 3rd, Brook Speltz performs with The Knights at Bryant Park in the heart of Manhattan — a free outdoor concert presented by Carnegie Hall Citywide, just steps from Times Square.
The program is a celebration of American music for America's 250th anniversary. Margaret Bonds's Troubled Water, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Negro Melodies, Jeremy Kittel's Stones River, and Paul Simon's American Tune weave together a portrait of American sound across centuries and communities.
The concert is free — no tickets required, first come first served.
The Knights, led by artistic directors Colin and Eric Jacobsen, are one of the most vital orchestras in New York, known for programs that bridge the classical and the contemporary with genuine warmth and imagination. This performance is part of their summer festival "This Music is Your Music: America at 250," presented in partnership with Bryant Park and Carnegie Hall.
Gates open at 6:30 PM. Bring a blanket.
